This video will show you the Apple iPad Pro Unboxing & Firstlook.
The brand new Apple iPad Pro, the first of its kind that Apple has released and it’s BIG, REAL BIG. But is it worth or just more of the same from Apple? I will leave that decision up to you. However lets take a look at what we are dealing with here in the Apple iPad Pro Unboxing & firstlook.
Lets talk about the size the screen is now a 12.9-inch retina display.
The iPad pro has 5.6 million pixels, which is the highest‑resolution Retina display of any of Apple’s iOS device’s so far. But this is probably because there is allot of real estate to fit that many pixels.
In Apples words 🙂
iPad has always offered a uniquely simple yet immersive experience. And now with its expansive 12.9-inch Retina display, nearly double the CPU performance of iPad Air 2, and refined Multi‑Touch technology, iPad Pro adds another dimension to that experience. It’s not just larger. It’s an iPad that lets you be more creative and more productive — at a whole new scale.
The iPad Pro sports Apple’s most powerful chip the A9X Chip and in the video we used Geekbench to benchmark the iPads Pro vs iPad Air 2. The iPad Pro smashes the iPad Air 2 in the single core scores of 3235 to 1817.
Probably the next big change and something that is unique to the iPad range is the inclusion of two extra high‑fidelity speakers bringing the total up to four speakers in the iPad Pro. I doubt that this is something Apple can actually fit into the iPad Air 2 so I believe it will stay unique to the iPad pro only. So the idea is that the sound will be more engaging with three times the acoustic output of iPad Air. Which is great but we found that if you are holding the iPad Pro your hands tend to cover the exact spot where the speaker grills are mounted and may cause some distortion of the sound. Not a big deal, but one worth mentioning.
Lastly, as an optionally extra you can buy a pen and a keyboard case that will allow you to write on the iPad and type like a normal laptop. while this seems to work fine. It doesn’t really replace you desktop and if you are looking to do that you might be better off with something like the Microsoft Surface Book or the Surface Pro 4.
Hi All,
123myIT has teamed up with STMBags.com to giveaway a bunch of Surface Pro 4 protective cases.
The reason I reached out to STM was because they have really well designed high quality cases. They can withstand drop tests from four feet.
Tested to meet or exceed U.S. Department of Defense Standard 810F/G durability tests, the Dux works seamlessly with your new Surface its Type Cover and pen.
The other thing I really like about the Surface Pro 4 STM Case’s is the see through back of the case. Because its clear it allows you to add labels with your name or stickers to the back of your Surface Pro 4.
All the ports are still accessible and the kick stand allows you to have great viewing angles of the screen.
Now lets get to the GIVEAWAY! What do you need to do to win one of these awesome Surface Pro 4 STM Case’s? Well its pretty straight forward.
* Subscribe to 123myIT YouTube channel
* Leave a comment in the video comments field, just one comment is needed
* Must be over 18 to apply
Winner’s will be picked at random on the 4th of December 2015, so good luck to everyone who enters.
This video will show you a first look at the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
Well you have been waiting for it and here it is guys, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. What are actually talking about here? Its a table that runs a full version of Windows 10.
That’s right unlike Apple’s iPad which runs a cut down version of operating system called IOS. The Surface Pro 4 can run all manner of Apps just like your desktop can. Which from my point of view is already pretty amazing.
I hope to at some stage get a comparison video up which we can go over what the differences are between the models however for now lets talk about the Surface Pro 4.
The Surface Pro 4 comes in three different configurations.
* Intel M3 CPU – slowest
* Intel I5 CPU – medium
* Intel I7 CPU – fastest
Each of the configurations above can be set with 4GB, 8GB or 16GB of ram and with storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.
Microsoft say that you should get about 9 hours of battery life out of Surface Pro 4 on the Core i5, 256GB, 8GB model.

While the cover doesn’t come with the Surface Pro 4, you have to buy it as an added extra, $129 extra. And the new version has been refined and includes smoother redesigned scissor backlit keys. So typing on the keyboard becomes a little bit nicer. The trackpad is now 40% larger. It makes you wonder why it was so small in the first place? And the amazing thing which I mentioned in the video, is the Surface Pro 3 keyboard works with the Surface Pro 4. Good job!! 🙂
I tested the Surface Pro 3 stylus and it worked with the Surface Pro 4 as well. So its a nice touch to make everything backward compatible.
I would say if you are in the market for a portable computer that you can draw with web browse send email and watch movies. You really can’t go past the Surface range. With a full OS on the device it make it very hard to beat.
Stay turned for the Surface Book unboxing coming shortly.
This video will show you how to create an OS X El Capitan Installer USB.
Hi All,
We previously showed 123myIT users how to create an OS X Yosemite and Mavericks USB drive. And we have the video on how to create an OS X El Capitan installer USB. The process is very simular to the other OS X installer videos that we have done in the past. There is a few code changes so just be aware of that.
Again you will need a computer running Mac OS X and you will also need a 8GB or larger USB drive. In this video I didn’t take any chances and I use a 16GB USB drive, which are quite cheap to buy these days.
Copy and paste the code into a Terminal window and press enter, you will be prompted for a user name and password. This should be your Admin accounts user name and password. Remember to change the name of your USB device to ElCapInstaller if you miss this step the code will error out with something like incorrect syntax error. 🙂
You should see the name of the USB change from whatever its called when you plug the USB in to Install OS X El Capitan. Once this has completed you should then be able to use the USB drive to do clean installs of OS X on almost any Mac hardware or computer. Its always helpful to keep a back up of OS X versions. Because if you ever want to go back a version or install OS X on a different Mac its good to have this backed up copy. Also Apple updates their OS X software once a year and then makes their old version unavailable. So to save yourself getting caught out this way the USB is a great step.
In the next video I will show you how to do a clean install this OS X El Capitan Installer that you have just created.
This video will show you how to Download OS X OS X El Capitan.
Some people love it, some people hate it, some people can’t notice any difference between Apple’s latest version of OS X El Capitan and the earlier version Yosemite.
So what are the differences you might ask?
Lets give you a quick run down.
* Split View – Allows you to have two apps open on the one screen “Something Windows has been doing for a while now” 🙂
* Mission Control – Allows you to see all the Windows open at the same time on one screen.
* Call out you cursor – This is a funny one, I was doing the video Download OS X El Capitan I move the mouse quite quickly and the mouse went massive. See the picture below.
So from what I can so mostly is little changes, nothing that I would consider really life changing additions to the operating system. More like little updates.
In this video however we will show you how to download OS X El Capitan so that we can use it to create an OS X OS X El Capitan USB installer drive. The benefits of this is that if you ever want to roll back to a version of OS X that may have run better on your Mac you can do this quite easily by doing a clean install.
You will need a Mac to download the software as well as an iTunes account user name and password. However once you have a copy of the OS X file you can copy that to a Windows computer if you wish.
Once the file is downloaded, simply copy it to the desktop and shortly I will put another video up on how you can make a USB installer drive from this file.
This video will show you how to Turn Spying off on Windows 10.
I get allot of tips from 123myIT subscribers on the 123myIT YouTube channel. The latest one was that Windows 10 has Spying and data capturing built in so, this user said he wouldn’t be upgrading to Windows 10. Since so many users of 123myIT have upgraded to Windows 10, I thought it wise to put some information up about this so called spying on Windows 10.
So whats it all about I hear you ask? Well, despite what you may have heard Windows 10 is not spying on you. So don’t worry to much about that.
What is does do though is collect allot of data about you and that’s due mostly to Cortana. Cortana is a personal assistant that is built into Windows 10.
Read the below official company statement of Windows 10 privacy.
“Windows does not collect personal information without your consent. To effectively provide Windows as a service, Microsoft gathers some performance, diagnostic and usage information that helps keep Windows and apps running properly. Microsoft uses this information to identify problems and develop fixes. More information on the Microsoft Services Agreement and Privacy Statement for consumers is available on our blogs.microsoft.com website.”
Cortana can help you manage your PC by helping you find files, manage your calendar and answer any questions you might have. While using this myself I didn’t find it that great, however this is where it gets interesting.
The more you use Cortana the better it gets because its stores your previous history of questions etc. And this is where Microsoft is collecting data about you. Ok so I am not going to get into Cortana right now I will leave that for another video. I will talk about how to turn spying off on windows 10 if you are concerned about this.
Go to Start > Settings > Privacy
Privacy > General
Pretty much all of the settings in this area have a toggle switch which allows you to turn the function on or off.
If you make your way down the list. Location, Camera, Microphone etc you will be able to toggle off any options that you are not comfortable with.
This video will show you the Apple iPhone 6S Plus Unboxing & Firstlook.
On the 24th of September Apple released its latest version of the iPhone, the Apple iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. Like the release of the iPhone 6 Plus back in 2014.
Like the iPhone 6, the Apple iPhone 6S comes in two different display sizes.
* Apple iPhone 6S 4.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit widescreen next-generation Multi‑Touch display with IPS technology and Taptic Engine 1334 x 750 pixel resolution 401 ppi
* Apple iPhone 6S Plus 5.5-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit widescreen next-generation Multi‑Touch display with IPS technology and Taptic Engine 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution 401 ppi
The next thing you will notice is the colours and Apple’s latest colour happens to be Rose Gold or in other words pink!
If you are looking to buy the Apple iPhone 6S Plus then prices start at $649, $749 and $849’s USD and thats for the 16GB, 64GB and 128GB.
Apples big selling point for the iPhone 6S is a new technology called 3D touch. And the only way that I can describe it is by calling it a click within a click. It uses different pressures on the screen to allow different features and functions on the phone. So for example you can use 3D touch when web browsing to bring up a preview page of a link that you press on without actually having to browse to that page.
Its a pretty cool addition to the iPhone and force touch was also added the Apple MacBook Pro 13 inch Retina Display 2015. You can check out the 123myIT.com video on the link just added.
For more info on the Apple iPhone 6S Plus see the official Apple page here.
