Microsoft Surface Book Unboxing & Firstlook

Microsoft Surface Book

Hi All!
First of all Merry Christmas and happy new year if you celebrate that. I have been a bit lazy lately not doing much website updating as I have been taking a small break from all work. 🙂

You may have noticed that articles have not been coming in as fast as they were but now I am back and ready for another year 2016! So I wish you all a good luck with this year. Now to finish the article on this Microsoft Surface Book what a great little laptop this is.
The first two amazing features of this laptop are that you can remove the screen from the keyboard and turn it into a tablet / clipboard.

See the action shot below 🙂

The screen can then be used as a tablet or clipboard.

The design has been really thought out well. Microsoft have designed a new type of hinge to work with this new type of laptop and they have called it the dynamic fulcrum hinge.
A bit of a mouthful I know, but it works really well. When the hinge folds back it moves the weight of the screen so that the keyboard has more leverage to be able to support the screen.
While its very well designed and looks cool, if I have to fault it slightly there is still some movement in the screen which you wouldn’t get from a regular laptop. However being able to remove the screen and use it like a tablet soon negates this small issue.

Its designed so well that it gives the Apple products a real run for their money. Lets talk about price. At the time of release the ultimate laptop starts at $1,499.00 USD. Not a small amount. However when you compare it to the 13 inch MacBook Pro, which doesn’t have a touch screen and doesn’t detach its screen and doesn’t have a pen. You might say that $1,499.00 seems like a bargain. I will leave that choice up to you guys.

If you are in the Market for the Surface Book you can buy them through the 123myIT Store.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Unboxing & Firstlook

This video will show you a first look at the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

Well you have been waiting for it and here it is guys, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. What are actually talking about here? Its a table that runs a full version of Windows 10.
That’s right unlike Apple’s iPad which runs a cut down version of operating system called IOS. The Surface Pro 4 can run all manner of Apps just like your desktop can. Which from my point of view is already pretty amazing.

I hope to at some stage get a comparison video up which we can go over what the differences are between the models however for now lets talk about the Surface Pro 4.
The Surface Pro 4 comes in three different configurations.

* Intel M3 CPU – slowest
* Intel I5 CPU – medium
* Intel I7 CPU – fastest

Each of the configurations above can be set with 4GB, 8GB or 16GB of ram and with storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.

Microsoft say that you should get about 9 hours of battery life out of Surface Pro 4 on the Core i5, 256GB, 8GB model.

While the cover doesn’t come with the Surface Pro 4, you have to buy it as an added extra, $129 extra. And the new version has been refined and includes smoother redesigned scissor backlit keys. So typing on the keyboard becomes a little bit nicer. The trackpad is now 40% larger. It makes you wonder why it was so small in the first place? And the amazing thing which I mentioned in the video, is the Surface Pro 3 keyboard works with the Surface Pro 4. Good job!! 🙂

Surface Pro 4 Keyboard

I tested the Surface Pro 3 stylus and it worked with the Surface Pro 4 as well. So its a nice touch to make everything backward compatible.

I would say if you are in the market for a portable computer that you can draw with web browse send email and watch movies. You really can’t go past the Surface range. With a full OS on the device it make it very hard to beat.

Stay turned for the Surface Book unboxing coming shortly.

Cheers
Matt

Apple iPad Air 2 Unboxing & Review

This video will show you the Apple iPad Air 2 Unboxing & Review.

Hi All,
I recently got Apple’s latest iPad Air 2 and thought I would do and unboxing and review to show those of you who are thinking about buying one what to expect when you do go through with the purchase.
Overall I was pretty impressed with this version its very light and thin as you can imagine. 6.1mm thin to be exact and weighing 0.96 pound.

The iPad Air 2 comes in three different colours Silver, Gold and Space Grey. With Storage sizes of 16GB, 64GB and 128GB respectively and you have a choice of WIFI or WIFI + Cellular.

iPad Air 2

At the time of writing this article prices start at $499 for the 16GB Wifi model and go all the way up to $829 for the top of the range 128GB cellular model.
The iPad Air 2 comes standard with the latest Retina display, which is a 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology at 2048-by-1536-pixel resolution at 264 ppi.
The display has a Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic and Antireflective coating which is fully laminated. The screen doesn’t fracture the images as much as previous models giving the user a much improved viewing experience.

All iPad Air 2’s have the A8X CPU with 64-bit architecture and a M8 motion coprocessor. The iPad Air 2, comes with 8MP iSight camera, some features are Burst mode, Tap Focus, Timer mode and Photo geotagging. The iSight camera allows HD video recording at 1080p (30 fps) and Slo-mo at (120 fps). and also features Time-lapse video, Video image stabilization, Improved face detection and 3x video zoom.

Lastly one of the other big upgrades is Touch ID which allows you to log into the iPad with the need for a passcode.
Over all pretty impress look and feel to Apples latest iPad, while I wouldn’t rush out and buy one myself. If you are in the market for a new tablet you would have to at least take a look at it.

Cheers
Matt
