I installed Windows 8.1 preview ony mac and was not able to detect wifi on my macbook pro 15″ retina. Also I bought windows 8.1 for students but i was only able to successfully install the preview version, is there any way I can upgrade to the full version with my product key?

Try putting in the DVD and installing it over the preview copy then use your key to activate it. Let me know if that works for you.
